Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

The start of your 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes will take place from the airport or your Riad in Marrakech at 8 o’clock. Towards Ouarzazate, passing through the pass of Tizi- N-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains. You will enjoy the charming panoramic view over the valleys and the Berber villages perched on the mountainsides, sometimes hardly distinguishable from the mountains themselves. And continue along the way until you reach the UNESCO preserved world heritage “Kasbahs Ait Ben Haddou” One of the locations used as a natural decor for many Hollywood movies such as “Lawrence of Arabia and the recent well-known series The Game of Thrones.

Then take a walk on the side of the dried river and discover this magical treasure of ancient Moroccan architecture. Stop for a lunch break at one of the traditional restaurants in the sport, and continue driving along the road of thousand Kasbahs until you reach Skoura, home of abundant ancient Kasbahs. From here, the direction takes us through Kela’a M’gouna, the Valley of Roses, with a stop to visit one of the cosmetic cooperatives and learn how women prepare perfumes based on distilling rose water and other cosmetic locally-made items. Overnight in Dades gorge at a traditional Kasbah Riad.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel Trekking in Erg Chebbi

After a traditional breakfast in your authentic Riad, you will depart to Merzouga. And drive along the route of thousands of Kasbahs and the charming oases passing by Tinghir with its palm grove. Then head to Toudra gorges for a leisure stopover and a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will go for a short trek along the area to discover its canyons of about 290m high. Afterward, you will leave towards Merzouga.

Camel trekking and Sleeping in the Desert is the highlight of the 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes

Switch the transportation to a powerful SUV vehicle and drive among the dunes of Erg Chebbi until you reach the camel caravan for a camel trekking in the desert.

Continue your camel ride to your desert camp, where you will stay for the night. Play the drums with the nomads under the millions of stars. End your journey by a traditional dinner at your lovely camp in the heart of the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

Today, we recommend waking up at dawn to watch the sunrise over the dunes. Then we will then begin the journey to the ancient Arabic city of Fes. Driving through the Ziz Valley and the extensive palm groves will give us some wonderfully photographic scenes before reaching Midelt, known for its apple production where we can stop for lunch.

We will continue over the Mid-Atlas Mountain range and the cedar forests, which contain Morocco’s Barbary Apes. We hope to spot some on our way through these beautiful landscapes. It was the logging of these forests to build Ifrane that caused the extinction of the Barbary Lions, which once roamed these forests. Ifrane, a Swiss Alpine-style village and winter ski resort, is our next stop.

End your 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes filled with so many memories and experiences that you will treasure for the rest of life.

I just returned from a 14 day Morocco trip organized by Detourmorocco. Ibrahim was our friendly driver he was more than focusing on his driving; he was a knowledgeable guide, he speaks good English, he was able to answer all our questions and explain to us the Moroccan culture. My wife and I started our Morocco tour from Casablanca, and then traveled to my wife’s dream city, the blue city of Chefchaouen in the north, we have also visited the capital city of Morocco. What most interested me in this tour is Fes with its historical places. Also, the highlight of this tour is our trip to the Sahara Desert, one of the kind experiences we had so far, we rode the camels and we have spent a beautiful night in a luxury camp, which was beyond our expectations. We spent some time in Marrakech; we have done some shopping in its traditional markets. The accommodations were wonderful, often in beautiful riads in the medina. To sum up my experience with Detourmorocco, we had what we have been told. I highly recommend their service..

My fiance and I had an excellent experience with DetourMorocco. For my first visit to Morocco I needed help in planning logistics, find good palaces to visit, and choosing hotels. I contact Detour Morocco on their website and I was impressed how fast they answer my emails I am highly satisfied with all aspects of the process from planning to execution. Every detail of the tour went as described and everything in Morocco was excellent. The hotels selections were superb and the itinerary was well organized. I would use Detour Morocco again without hesitations.

I just returned from a trip to Morocco with my husband and my kids. We visited Morocco for the first time. We booked a 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes with Detour Morocco, I was fascinated by how flexible the team was as answering my questions via the email. This private tour exceeded our expectations from the very start. Our driver/guide Ibrahim collected us at the exact time from our Riad. The selection of accommodations was terrific, especially in Merzouga, we stayed in a luxury camp located in the heart of the desert. Our trip was incredibly magical,
Thanks to all involved making our vacation awesome. I would like to say if you are visiting Morocco, I recommend Detour Morocco for safe and professional experience.

I extremely loved my experience going with Detour Morocco on this group tour. I learned so much about myself and got to know new fellow travellers who are passionate about traveling the world. In this group tour, I loved the Moroccan food, the variety of landscapes, the locals, and the EVERYTHING! I can’t wait to back again to Morocco. I really missed everything! If you are planning your trip to Morocco, I recommend this company they are very professional and they really know what their clients need. I don’t believe I would have had the same experience if I had not contacted Detour Morocco.
